“SUP, SIP, SING” WITH THE PRINCETON FESTIVAL
Revelers can add zest to their seasonal activities on Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at an all-day Bookfair for The Princeton Festival at Barnes & Noble, 3535 Route 1 South in Princeton’s MarketFair shopping center. At various times throughout the day, there will be events for all ages to enjoy. And along with enjoying themselves, shoppers will be pleased that a % of all purchases made with the Princeton Festival voucher, including food, will be donated to The Princeton Festival, a premier performing arts celebration held every June in the Princeton area.
Perfect for an after-work rendezvous, “Sup, Sip and Sing”, from 6 pm to 8 pm on Tues, Dec 13, will highlight supper at the Barnes & Noble café, followed by a group of professional singers presented by The Princeton Festival. The singers will begin serenading at 7, then invite shoppers to join in with a seasonal singalong. As part of the evening festivities, the winner of the “Name Our Drink” contest will be revealed and awarded a free sipping of the hot chocolate drink specially concocted for The Princeton Festival’s Bookfair.
Earlier in the day, events will focus on young people and casual shoppers. In the morning, at
10:30, a storyteller will read the childhood classic, The Princess and the Pea – all children are encouraged to wear their favorite Prince or Princess garb for the occasion – and there will be coloring provided.
From 12:30 to 1:30 in the Barnes & Noble event area, The Princeton Festival will show a short video of backstage doings from past seasons – a fun glimpse into the world behind the curtain for anyone who loves a show, and who loves to know what goes on behind the scenes. After the video, Princeton Festival’s Artistic Director Richard Tang Yuk will have a conversation about the annual Princeton Festival.
In addition, from 10am-6pm, volunteers from The Princeton Festival will offer Gift Wrapping for donations.
Shoppers need only mention “The Princeton Festival,” or use a Princeton Festival Bookfair
voucher, when they purchase anything on Dec 13, and it will be credited to the donation that will be provided to the Festival. A link to The Princeton Festival voucher can be found at
www.princetonfestival.org on the homepage.
Online purchases from Barnes & Noble at www.bn.com/bookfairs will also be credited to The
Princeton Festival from Dec 13-18, by using the Princeton Festival voucher ID #10596781 at checkout.
To participate in the “Name Our Drink” contest, go to www.princetonfestival.org homepage and follow the link and enter as many suggestions as you wish.
Since 2004, The Princeton Festival has sponsored premier quality professional performances of opera, musical theater, dance, piano competition, choir, string quartets and other performing arts in the Princeton area every summer. As a non-profit organization, much of its funding comes from a variety of sources, including audience donations, NJ State Council on the Arts, Horizon Foundation for New Jersey, and the New Jersey Cultural Trust, and the Church and Dwight Employee Giving Fund.
So, mark the date, Tues, December 13, for all day fun, food and fundraising for The PriFestival at Barnes & Noble at the MarketFair Mall, Route 1 South in Princeton.
